While much of the press will be bemoaning his pulling out of the Paris Agreement and saying “drill, baby, drill”, a bigger story is taking place: that the environmental debate is moving on to a radical phase which means creating a new energy and economic model, driven by AI.
Starmer talks about reform but the reality is that he’s stuck with the lawfare model that the outgoing Labour government bequeated to the Tories in 2010. That means HS2, nuclear power, housebuilding, welfare reform, any serious change is stalled by judicial review.
